COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Updated on 12/20/2022

The Centers for Disease Control expanded the use of updated (bivalent) COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 6 months through 5 years. Please see the CDC and FDA statements for additional information.

Children ages 6 months through 5 years who previously completed a Moderna primary series are eligible to receive a Moderna bivalent booster 2 months after their final primary series dose. Children ages 6 months through 4 years who are currently completing a Pfizer primary series will receive a Pfizer bivalent vaccine as their third primary dose. We also offer the initial doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Patients can schedule an appointment through one of our 25 pediatric clinics throughout the Bay Area. Vaccines are also available at many health organizations and retail pharmacies. We encourage you to get your vaccine at the most convenient and easy to get to place for your family.

We continue to follow guidance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the CDC. It is important to remember that vaccines are the best way to reduce infections and hospitalizations in the community.

Please see the list of locations below and instructions for scheduling. We are experiencing a high call volume, so we appreciate your patience. Please continue to visit this page for updates.

Other options for vaccination

In addition, Stanford Health Care is also offering vaccine to children at their vaccine clinics.

Patients may have access to vaccine through resources beyond those offered by Stanford. We encourage you to get vaccinated where convenient and in the most safe and timely manner possible. We will continue to update you as more vaccines are received and made available for distribution and will continue to partner with our local county health authorities to reach individuals who do not have access to primary care providers.

You can also check myturn.ca.gov to see if there are other vaccination sites with available appointments.

Billing

There is no out-of-pocket cost to our patients to receive the COVID-19 testing, treatment, or vaccination at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. If you have any additional questions about COVID-19 billing, please call our Financial Counseling Team at (650) 736-2273.
