Respiratory Care Services
Our Respiratory Care team at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital is part of the Pulmonary & Cystic Fibrosis Center, which provides a wide range of services for children with pulmonary and respiratory disorders. Some of the services our team offers includes:
- Mechanical ventilation, both conventional and high frequency
- Aerosol therapy (medicated and non-medicated)
- Bronchopulmonary hygiene techniques:
- conventional CPT
- mechanical vibrator vest
- flutter therapy
- IPV therapy
- Oxygen therapy
- Humidity therapy
- Inhaled nitric oxide therapy
- Oximetry (spot checks, sleep oximetry)
- Capnography (continuous and spot checks)
- Airway management and care (suctioning, oral and nasal airways)
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency airway management
- Diagnostic techniques:
- bronchoscopy assisting
- sputum induction
- Patient/parent instruction of all respiratory care modalities, as ordered by the physician
- Acute care transport (inter-hospital and intra-hospital)
- Cardiopulmonary research
